Every Mom deserves a doula and every baby deserves the best birth possible!
Doula Care in Perth
Every woman is unique, so too is my role at every birth I attend. For some women my role will be one of loving support and comfort, for another it will be guidance and assisting her to empower herself, for another woman it will be to provide information. I strive to preserve the intimacy of birth by protecting the birthing space around a laboring mom and her partner. My goal is to ensure that the family can welcome their baby into the world in a peaceful environment in which mom, dad and baby are all safe, loved, listened to and respected.
I am a CBI (Childbirth International) trained Doula. I was fortunate to attend a doula course facilitated by the amazing Michel Odent in London in 2010 and many other doula trainings held all over the world with the leading birth professionals. I’m also certified Stillbirth and Bereavement doula certified through Stillbirth day and soon to be certified as Ecstatic birth practitioner (July 2023).
I believe it is a privilege to be invited to share this very personal time with couples. I feel so honoured for being invited to be a part of many births; I have welcomed more than 450 Dreambirth babies into the world since I started my doula journey in 2010. All these experiences and years I have spent in birthing spaces, all the lessons I gained through all the journeys, made me to one of the leading doulas in Australia. I have supported families through many different births, including hospital, birth centre and home births. I have supported mothers/couples through planned and unplanned caesarean births, to avoid inductions, through medical and natural inductions, medicated and unmedicated birth. I have journeyed with couples from many different cultural backgrounds, belief systems and lifestyles, without judgement and with fully unbiased support. I have also supported those who chose alternate forms of conception via egg donation, embryo adoption or IVF.

As your birth doula and childbirth educator and mentor I meet with you and your partner at least 4 times (or just with you if it’s your wish) during pregnancy to get to know each other and develop a comfortable and trusting relationship. During our meetings in a relaxed atmosphere, we will discuss your preferences in labor, I will make sure you are well informed of your options and help you to realize your desired birth experience. We will talk about fears you may have. I will help you decrease your fears and increase your confidence in your body’s ability to birth your baby.
We will talk about how your body works during pregnancy, labour and birth and what to expect in labour. We will discuss the role of the partner, how your partner can help during your birthing and how we work together.
I will teach you personalized hypnobirthing/ecstatic birth techniques that will help you to achieve much more comfortable birthing.
I will guide you to explore your deepest desire, fears, wishes ..
I will help you to deepen your connections to your body
We will explore what gives you joy, what lights you up, where do you feel strong, where do you feel weak…and this all will help you to lean into your inner wisdom.
In one of our meetings, I will do a fear release session with you.
I will support you in whatever choices you make on the way towards your Dreambirth.
Labour and birth
Once you are in labour, I come to your home, hospital or birth centre and stay with you until your baby is born. I ensure your birth place is calm, private and comfortable and you feel safe and in control. I will keep you focused to work with your body and baby, I can suggest positions and movements to reduce discomfort, to increase the effectiveness of labour or to re-position your baby, help you to be calm and relaxed throughout your birthing with help of natural pain relief methods.
I will take care of practical tasks to support your birthing, so your birth partner can focus on you.
I am also there to help you make informed choices when things don’t go according to plan. And guide you to ask your health care team all the questions you need to make the right and empowered choice.
After the birth, I will stay with you for about two hours to make sure the special birth place is warm, calm and private and the initial breastfeeding and bonding with your baby is happening unless you are comfortable and your family is ready for private time together.
And I will take lots of photographs and video of this special moment if you wish so (see testimonials).
Postpartum visits
I will visit you at home or at hospital and we will talk about your Dreambirth and I will answer any questions you may have. I will also offer evidence-based information on baby feeding, baby soothing, attachment parenting, newborn care etc. I can also make appropriate referrals (Postpartum doulas, lactation consultants, naturopath etc) when necessary.
Registration and costs
I am independently self-employed. As your doula, I am working for you, not your care giver or hospital. Because of the commitment I am making to you, I accept three-four families in a month to ensure I will be available for you and your Dreambirth (with exception of a family emergency or severe illness).
Please see Dreambirth packages for more informations and costs.
I offer free doula service to refugee- and teenage- mums.) You can pay up to 5 instalments from the time you sign up to the time you are 38 weeks pregnant. I also accept payment by cash and Bank deposit. If you have a financial concern, please let me know... we should be able to work something out. You decide what you can afford and what the services are worth to you, and we settle on a rate. All conversations are kept confidential.
Please be aware that HypnoBirthing® and doula care are two separate entities. A doula cannot teach HypnoBirthing® unless trained and registered with the HypnoBirthing Institute. When choosing a doula it is very important to make sure that your doula is supportive of, and informed about HypnoBirthing® philosophy, language and techniques. At the very least, check that they have read the book and are comfortable with the philosophy.
